The Senders To Preform

We are excited to host The Senders this year at Watermelon Days. The Senders began making the ballroom circuit around the Midwest appearing in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota. In 1967, The Senders won the Battle of the Bands at the Roof Garden and were named Band of the Year. They recorded their first record at IGL Studios with songs “Sometimes Good Guys Don’t Wear White” and “She Told Me.” In the late 60’s, the music style went hard rock. The band changed and began performing country music. Disco then came and went, but not The Senders. Classic rock and roll began a comeback in the 70’s. So they went back to performing their first true love of music – classic rock and roll – and continue to do so 43 years after it all began.
